The Best Help from Endeavor Careers

A competitive test can be mastered only when you have the best at your disposal. This can be resources, guidance and help in planning out what you have to do best.

The GMAT is another kind of standardized test that assesses an individual’s aptitude in English and mathematics. This test is used for admission into MBA programs and can be taken in place of the CAT entrance exam. This test typically evaluates the verbal, quantitative, writing, reading and analytical skills. It is not to be mistaken as a test if intelligence levels or business knowledge.

The GMAT test also consists of various sections including a verbal section. This section has a total of forty one questions that have to be answered under a time period of seventy five minutes, these question are based on a Scaled Score that falls between 0 to 60 points.

Typically students score between nine and forty eight, this means that students who score anything between 0 and 9 are said to have the same skills. If you are targeting to get a score of 700+, you will need to get a score of 36 on the GMAT Scaled Score.

In the verbal section, you have three forms of questions that will assess critical reasoning, reading comprehension and sentence correction. There is however no fixed number of question on each section.

To understand how many question you can expect, it would be better to go through sample or mock question papers. Typically, you can expect to see sixteen questions in the reading comprehension, so there are three passages with a total of three to five questions.

The GMAT test can prove to be tough if there are four passages present in the question paper. You can see this fourth passage in the last ten to eleven questions.

You get fifteen questions that are based on sentence correction and grammar; test takers normally find this section tough if phrases and idioms are introduced. The level of grammar that is evaluated is very different from what one would normally use, so practice is always recommended.

Next, you have ten questions that revolve around critical reasoning and logic. These ten questions may then be further divided into ten questions such as Assumption, Bold face etc., this is usually where things get tougher. The reading comprehension section of GMAT test takes more time to complete and this section should be attempted first, followed by the sentence correction section.

The CAT is an entrance test that has to be cleared if you want to apply for an MBA. These scores are used to assess your intellectual worth for MBA admission.

The CAT exam is the first step that one has to take before they can apply for their MBA study program in any management college. The CAT Exam tests your knowledge, your presence of mind and abilities to perform exceptionally well under the toughest of situations. The CAT is sought after all aspiring management students, but their success will depend to a large extent on tow key factors. The first factor is to reduce their total number of negative markings with a full strike rate of at least 85% and the second factor is to possess intelligent and exceptional skills in answering the questions papers.

The full time allotted to CAT aspirants for answering their question paper is 120 minutes and the students is expected to complete a certain number of questions that vary anywhere between seventy five to one hundred and fifty- this number will vary with each year. This is another reason why you have to answer as many number of mock question papers as possible, as you never know the total number of questions that will appear. All answers are given in an objective format on an OMR sheet and the student has to simply select the right answer. Each question is based on a system of differential marking and the questions that do appear possess a mark of 0.5, 1 or 2 marks.

All correct answers are awarded a single mark each and incorrect answers are given a ¼ deduction of the total marks scored so far.

Logical Reasoning Skills: The questions that will assess this part of your general knowledge will come in all forms and types. This particular section of the question paper can include certain statements which the students are expected to draw a correct inference up on. These questions can include an alphabetical arrangement, figures and words and even brain teasers or questions that draw out your logical inferences. This section too, also requires plenty of detailed practice as they will assess your sense of logical reasoning, mental precision and should ideally be attempted when you have a cool head!

Test of Comprehensive Ability: This is mostly to do with a thorough assessment of your command over the English language. This section includes a paragraph that is followed by a couple of questions with multiple choice answers. You have to practice reading quickly and understand fully what the paragraphs contain as most of the answers are contained within the paragraph itself. With practice, you will be able to attempt this section easily and quickly and more effectively as well. You also have to be able to write and read fluently.
